Light a candle for Darfur

From AIC:

Darfur has been embroiled in a deadly conflict for over three years. At least 400,000 people have been killed; more than 2 million innocent civilians have been force to flee their homes and now live in displaced-persons camps in Sudan or in refugee camps in neighboring Chad; more than 3.5 million men, women and children are completely reliant on international aid for survival.

The American Islamic Congress is launching a Muslim and Arab initiative to help the people in Darfur. Young people across the Middle East are organizing candlelight vigils in support of the Darfurians and urging the Sudanese government to end the ongoing violence in Western Sudan.

  1. i believe that although the american islamic congress is trying to help and children across the nation are standing up to the governments i believe that there needs to be more help from all of the international spectrum to make an effect to help these people.
